I am so happy that H&M has finally reached Iceland and I have been waiting for the ERDEM collection and its on its way. Baz Luhrmann recently created a short story in collaboration with the ERDEM line called “The secret life of flowers”, a love story that I for one wish that could have been made a feature. Have a good day people and please follow us on Instagram @reykjavikfashion. xx
I have been sporting different hair colors for the past year. It all started by me going from going completely pink to gray to pink back to being gray again. I find it extremely important to use good hair products especially when you mess with your hair so much. I often get compliments on my hair – probably because people like the look but might be too scared to try it out. I was a bit skeptical at first and I felt it might be too hard to maintain but after trying it out I can promise you that it is much easier than it seems. All you need are the rights products to suit your hair type and color and you are good to go. I decided to list my favorite products that I use. Most of these products are available at sapan.is Happy weekend everyone – and make sure to follow us on Instagram @reykjavikfashion
OPI is launching their new line tomorrow and guess what… this time around they are focusing on Iceland and the colors of Icelandic nature. The line is sporting some pretty cool shades – my personal favorite is OPI One Heckla Of A Color! (its actually Hekla but I guess they put the c in to help with the pronunciation). Check it out !!! If you want to want to know more be sure to check out their facebook page!! Make sure to follow us on Instagram: Reykjavikfashion!!
This weekend was a relaxing one – spent mostly on the sofa with the computer on my lap – browsing the world wide web. I came across an Instagram account: Micha Gianneli. She is so stunning and you can tell that she is really into posting well produced photos. She is one of the biggest influencers in Australia and her Instagram account is visually gorgeous, you can see she puts a lot of thought into the overall look. I will let the pictures speak for themselves 🙂 Remember to follow us on Instagram: reykjavikfashion Happy chappy Monday 🙂
This bag has been on the top of my wish-list for quite some time. Granted its from last year and there are newer bags out there but I love how elegant it is and can be dressed up and down. I would probably wear it with a chain – and like it in the color blue 🙂 . I found some street style pictures and I am just going to let them do all the talking. Do you reckon you can get this bag here in Iceland? Follow us on Instagram: reykjavikfashion Have a lovely day 🙂
Photos by : Mathilde Schmidt & Soren Stubkjær The forecast said that it would rain all day yesterday but at the middle of The Roots Manuva set, the sun broke out and some of my friends who know how quickly the weather can change here in Iceland, were smart enough to bring their sunnies. Although the forecast for today says it is to rain all day, I will defiantly bring my sunnies just in case. Foo Fighters were as amazing as expected and at one point Dave Grohl brought out his daughter to play the drums and she defiantly wowed the crowd. Yesterday had a lot of cool looking festival guests and we managed to take some shots of some happy festival guests. Happy independence day everybody !!
"Out of a hundred songs to choose from, which one should I end with?" Chaka Khan told the audience while the beat for "Ain´t Nobody" started in the background. The crowd went wild!! Secret Solstice started with a bang last night and the festival guests didn't let the dark clouds bother them one bit. The festival fashion was clearly ´90s inspired, mixed with a dash of glitter and colors. We snapped a few pics of the festival guests and the atmosphere.
Secret Solstice is upon us and some of you might be wondering what to wear. I am constantly pushing the refresh button on the weather forecast website but unfortunately the rain cloud for both Friday and Saturday are there to stay. But don´t fret – this just gives us more of a Glastonbury feeling. Thankfully there are ways to dress up , wear a colorful raincoat , boots and still look cool. The key items in my opinion are cool boots and preferably a bright yellow or army green raincoat, hat, cap or a funky bandana, a fanny pack or a cute little bag. Don´t be afraid to put on some creative festival makeup and remember a good lipstick can go a long way. I found a few items at local stores around Reykjavik to get you all prepped and ready to go!! Bandana : Geysir – 5.800 kr Canon Camera: Costco – Prices may vary Lipstick: Mac Crossover Bag: Zara – 5.995 kr Raincoat: 66 North– 19.000 kr Foo Fighters Hoodie: Spúútnik – selection and prices may vary Sunglasses: Húrra Reykjavík – 7.990 kr Chanel perfume travel kit: Hagkaup – 18.299 kr Hunters Rain-boots: Geysir – 23.800 kr And I pinterested some festival pictures for you to draw inspiration from !!! I pinterested some ideas for you to use as inspiration.
Tull is often worn as a costume or most common under a skirt but Carrie Bradshaw was the one that introduced me to the new way of wearing Tulle. This statement item for me is something that never goes out of style. I am currently trying to find a skirt to wear to a big party this weekend and I have been searching high and low in shops around Reykjavik. Do you know of any places?
We are seeing marble lips everywhere at the moment. A lot of beauty bloggers are putting out a tutorial on how to do it. Something to experiment with over the weekend !! DO YOU DARE?
