Last night at Sonar Reykjavík was such a blast. I started out by seeing Berndsen then off to Sing Fang and ending dancing like a wild child at Gus Gus and Moderat. I also made some friends along the way and snapped a photo of some of the festival goers. This time around people were dressed a bit more wildly than last night so I am way excited to see what crazy outfits I get to snap tonight. Friday top picks: Tonight is the last and final night, I for one cant wait for the legendary Fat Boy Slim and the 22 year old rapper from Croydon, UK, Nadia Rose. See you there and I hope you all are happy with me snapping some photos of all you cool kids.
Sonar Reykavík is an incredibly impressive festival and I was lucky enough to get to be able to attend. This year the line up is incredible with artists such as De La Soul, Fat Boy Slim, Moderat and Tommy Genesis. I saw Tommy’s gig last night and boy was she cool. She is a young rapper from Canada and spits out oddball lyrics and is totally anti-establishment. She rocked the stage where she had Sunna Ben, from the band Reykjavíkurdætur, providing the DJ beats with such skill. In terms of festival wear, we saw a lot of multicolored hair and flashy shoes. The laid back attitude and hoodie fashion definitely stood out. My Look: I forgot to take a picture of my look for you last night but the one below was taken earlier in the day. I was sporting pink hair, black hoodie and black & white sneakers. I will try and remember to take a photo tonight. Thursday top picks: See you guys tonight for round two!! And if I come up to you at a concert I hope you are willing to let me take a picture of you and to show me your favorite piece!
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me, Im going to do a drastic change to my hair. The color I am going for has been seen all over Instagram and New York Fashion week as well as on stars such as Georgia May Jagger, Sienna Miller, Lady Gaga and miss Kylie Jenner. I usually stick to my own hair color but I am ready to try something new. Here are my inspo pics!!!
Reykjavík Fashion Festival (RFF) will be held next month and we at Reykjavík Fashion & Design are way too excited about it. Yesterday RFF revealed the designers that will be showcasing this year. Anita Hirlekar Anita Hirlekar is without a doubt one of the most exciting Icelandic fashion designers to emerge in recent years. With a keen eye for textiles, Anita Hirlekar harnesses an original vision and an extraordinary sense for fashion. Her garments pulsate with energy and they bare graphics that seem like woolen fireworks flowing throughout the silhouette of each piece. We did an interview with Anita in our next issue and we are simply in awe of what she has accomplished working with amazing design houses such as Dior And Furstenberg. ÝR Ýr Þrastadóttir is one of the most talented designers in our opinion and we at RFD have been lucky enough to have worked with her on various projects in the past. Ýr was selected out of her graduating class to participate on behalf of Iceland in Designers Nest( and international platform for Nordic design graduates) during Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2011 and has participated at Reykjavík Fashion Festival numerous times. Her designs have received rave reviews so we are incredibly excited to see what she has in store for us next. Cintamani Cintamani is an Icelandic outdoors label that has been around for over 20 years developing and designing outerwear clothing, suitable for the Icelandic weather. They are known for having a fashionable take on their designs and are now launching a brand new line at RFF designed by their brand new creative team. The label has participated at RFF before or in 2014 and are now back this year. They are known for using vibrant colors, inspired by nature. Inklaw Inklaw Clothing was…
I found some of my favorite items for you to be inspired by. All items from shops around Reykjavík. I love the elegant pink colors and both looks are very easy and simple that can either be worn with black or blue jeans. I somehow always thought that the pink colors didn’t suit my pale Scandinavian skin tone but boy was I wrong, especially with the the darker shade of pink. If you don´t feel like going all pink than you can try to spice up your outfit by adding a splash of color. 1 Lindex 2.195 2 Comma 9.990 3 Gallería Reykjavík 145.000 4 Comma 16.194 5 Lindex 11.995 6 Hagkaup ( Lancome ) 8.689 7 Húrra Reykjavík 18.990 8 Zara 11.995

Kyrja has quickly become a basic fixture on the Icelandic fashion scene, gaining recognition for her designs that blur the borders of femininity and androgyny. With her regal and dark vision, designer Sif creates gorgeous clean cut silhouettes that are a must-have in every fashionable closet. The essence of Kyrja feels almost religious which goes perfectly with the name of the brand, which translates the act of chanting. The juxtaposition of Kyrja is that the minimalistic and harsh cut of the clothing belies their soft feel. Designer Sif studied fashion design far from her homeland in the Italian city of Milano. While finishing her studies, Sif took on a full-time internship at Italian fashion house Vivetta. This was an ambitious move, which meant she was working during her final school exams, but it offered a huge boon to her learning experience. After Italy, the young designer shifted her focus towards London. She moved to the UK in late 2011 where she interned for the lingerie company Luolou loves you then later at prominent men’s fashion label Agi & Sam. A few months after her move, the first ideas of Kyrja were born, though the ball really started rolling when she moved into her first proper studio. Kyrja’s first collection was for fall/winter ‘13. Designer Sif doesn’t know the exact moment she first became interested in fashion, but vividly remembers planning trips to Paris with her grandmother at the age of thirteen to stake out the fashion design school she had her young heart set on. She tells us, “around 15 or 16 year old, my mother taught me how to sew a high waisted skirt in the mood of the 1950’s and I knew that there was no turning back. I was hooked on that feeling of being able to…

–This weekend I was looking through fashion runway pictures to get an idea of what to wear this Christmas!! I can´t believe how fast the weeks fly by !! Here are a few inspo pictures for those of us who want to go full glam this holiday season!!–
Most of us have mentally started to prepare Christmas and presents. I have many friends that live very busy lives, many of whom are running a business, self-employed or full time moms or both. These superwomen have to be very organized and efficient. I put together a list of luxurious gifts and productivity boosting pieces for those busy bees. Iðunn box – So I love Iðunn box, I have tried it a few times and it is always a hit. This box is stuffed with all kinds of beauty products and are simply brilliant for a night of pampering. They are now selling a special Christmas edition where you can find things like: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, Pacifica Persian Rose Perfume, L´Oreal Detox and Brightening Pure Clay Mask and OPI plumbing top coat. Copper Globe – This Globe also happens to be a lamp. For the dreamer to spin around and dream of new destinations. Amber – Hlín Reykdals quaint little gift shop at Grandi offering a wide range of elegant items from jewelry and other design and gift items. This gem of a shop also sells one of my favorite perfumes “Amber” from Laboratory Perfumes I encourage you to go and check it out. Glam Glow – This super mud has had rave reviews and not for nothing. When applied you feel all minty and tingly, then when dried you rinse it off and VOILA your skin feels moist and fresh. I recommend you use it 2 -3 times a week for the best results. Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Eyeliner – This eyeliner adds a bit of glamour to any lady on the go. OPI Tickle My France – This is one of my favorite colors from OPI, this creamy pale pink color is so elegant…
