Secret Solstice is coming up in a little over a week and they intend to run entirely on geothermal energy sources and enacting on a total plastic straw ban on site – how amazing. I have already started preparing my outfits with some help from Lindex and 66North and I am going to show you what I will be wearing. This is all for now, only 1 DAY TO GO !! I am so excited. For those of us who live in Reykjavik we haven´t noticed much of a summer or even spring just yet. I am however sure that our time will come and hopefully soon as I am pretty tired of the rain and grey skies. Looking into my not too distant fashion future, I decided to give you guys some inspiration and look into what I am planning on wearing this summer. Here are my inpso picks 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this post and I will be posting a Summer Beeuty post soon 🙂 Dont forget to follow us on Instagram : reykjavikfashion Love xxx
The yearly Met Gala was held last night and one can safely say that there was an obvious theme among stunningly dressed attendees. Tiaras, halos and various creative head pieces. What I wouldn´t give to just get to wear one of those dresses for just one day. I will just let the pictures speak for themselves. Have a great week you guys and dont forget to follow us on instagram: reykjavikfashion
Hey you guys, sorry for being dormant for such a long time. I got swamped at work but I am back on track. I don´t know about you but I am totally getting into the summer mood and with a new season must come a new hairstyle. I didn´t go as far as cutting into a short bob like Kim Kardashian but I decided to go with Scandinavian and color my hair a little blond and sun kissed. Here are my inspirational pics. What color are you going to go for this summer? Love
Happy New Year everyone. I took a bit of a brake from blogging during the holidays but now I am back and I have a good feeling about this year. I went to Norður og Niður in Harpa last weekend. Oh boy it was such an amazing festival a melting pot of creativity oozing from all directions. Sigur Rós was organizing the festival turning Harpa into a fairy tale land. There were so many Icelandic and foreign artists that performed during the festival. Jarvis Cocker hosted a great talk, peaches as well as some of the most famous Icelandic artists performed “gloomy holidays” where popular Christmas songs were performed in minor to give it more of a “dark” effect. I saw my idol Peaches perform on the Friday and she was AWESOME. Here are some pictures from the festival. I will defiantly be attending next year if Sigur Rós decides to put it on again. Read more about the festival here. Hope you are having a good start to the year 2018.
Christmas is almost here it is crazy – there are only two weeks left of 2017 can you believe it? This year was a crazy one and I am still trying to reflect on everything that went on, what I am thankful for and what I can do better. I will write a post about it soon. I don´t know about you but I always associate Christmas with the color RED. I am trying to be a little bit more daring these days and stop myself from wearing my conventional black outfit for work. I found some inspo pictures for you guys on Pinterest. Much love xx
Some people can be quite tricky when it comes to giving them presents. They either seem to buy the thing they need almost instantly or dont have any clue what they want. I often end up giving them something generic and boring. This year I decided to do some detective work and try to find something within a wide price range and would be creative and fun to give. The jacket from 66 north has been on my wishlist since last year – actually I first saw it in red and black but I don´t think they make it in that color anymore. Makeup is always a classy gift and perfect for a friend. I have been using the lip balm from the blue lagoon forever and there is no turning back I also carry the face mist from collagenvorur.is in my bag at all time – a product that I can highly recommend. The Becca primer and foundation is on my wishlist as well as the sunflower clock from Vitra – one can always dream. Manuka Doctor Eye Oil, Available at Deisymakeup. Blue Lagoon Scented Lava, Available at Blue Lagoon. 66 North Tindur Puffered Jacket, Available at 66North. Nikki Williams Key Ring, Available at Mai. Rifle Paper Co. Diary, Available at Petit.is. Frederik Bagger Glasses, Available at Snúran. Vitra Sunflower Clock, Available at penninn. Aurum Earrings, Available at Aurum. Becca Back Light Priming Filter, Available at Hagkaup. Bobbi Brown Satin & Caviar Shadow & Long-Wear gel eyeliner pallette, Available at Hagkaup. Atelo Face Mist, Available at collagenvorur.is. Blue Lagoon Lip Balm, Available at Blue Lagoon. RIVSALT, Available at rvkdesign.is. Hope this list gives you some inspiration on what to give your loved ones. Have a lovely day 🙂
I have been trying to refrain from listening to Christmas songs or decorating my flat too early. I recently joined a choir and for the past weeks we have been singing Christmas songs – preparing for our concert in December. Although I have been able to put of the Christmas spirit until the 1 of December – I now cant help it. I prepared a little wishlist of items that I want for Christmas. This carpet from Mundu Mig would fit beautifully in my kitchen. Crazy cool shoes from Maia. Potential Christmas outfit available at Vila. This Estee Lauder double stick foundation has been on my wishlist for a long time, I might have to treat myself to it as an early Christmas gift from me to me. You can buy it at most drugstores. Being a fan of everything Stina Goye, this coat would be fantastic to wear during the festivities – available at Geysir. Nice lingerie is a must for Christmas, this set is available at Yeoman. Everything in the Skinboss product line is all Organic and absolutely amazing. I have been so lucky to try out the products and I can 100 % recommend it to anyone. It is a great gift for your mom, dad or a friend. Available at most drugstores. Urð is an old Icelandic word meaning earth or ground. I got given this soap as a gift the other day and it smells fantastic ( without it being overwhelming ) and looks pretty cool. The soap is made from sea salt which gently exfoliates the skin and natural oils which leave the skin feeling soft and nourished. Available at URÐ. I hope you are all feeling happy and like some of us, getting into the Christmas mood. Don´t forget to follow us on instagram: reykjavikfashion…
I am so happy that H&M has finally reached Iceland and I have been waiting for the ERDEM collection and its on its way. Baz Luhrmann recently created a short story in collaboration with the ERDEM line called “The secret life of flowers”, a love story that I for one wish that could have been made a feature. Have a good day people and please follow us on Instagram @reykjavikfashion. xx
