All I want for christmas !!

All I want for christmas !!

I have been trying to refrain from listening to Christmas songs or decorating my flat too early. I recently joined a choir and for the past weeks we have been singing Christmas songs – preparing for our concert in December. Although I have been able to put of the Christmas spirit until the 1 of December – I now cant help it. I prepared a little wishlist of items that I want for Christmas. This carpet from Mundu Mig would fit beautifully in my kitchen. Crazy cool shoes from Maia. Potential Christmas outfit available at Vila. This Estee Lauder double stick foundation has been on my wishlist for a long time, I might have to treat myself to it as an early Christmas gift from me to me. You can buy it at most drugstores. Being a fan of everything Stina Goye, this coat would be fantastic to wear during the festivities – available at Geysir. Nice lingerie is a must for Christmas, this set is available at Yeoman. Everything in the Skinboss product line is all Organic and absolutely amazing. I have been so lucky to try out the products and I can 100 % recommend it to anyone. It is a great gift for your mom, dad or a friend. Available at most drugstores. Urð is an old Icelandic word meaning earth or ground. I got given this soap as a gift the other day and it smells fantastic ( without it being overwhelming ) and looks pretty cool. The soap is made from sea salt which gently exfoliates the skin and natural oils which leave the skin feeling soft and nourished. Available at URÐ. I hope you are all feeling happy and like some of us, getting into the Christmas mood. Don´t forget to follow us on instagram: reykjavikfashion…

GOLD GOLD GOLD!!

GOLD GOLD GOLD!!

I was driving in the car the other day and heard something on the radio about this new collagen product on the market. I was in a rush and I did not catch the name of the product or where to get it from. Frustrated and in a rush I got out of the car and finished my errands. A few days later I was scrolling through Facebook and low and behold my eye caught a little advert on the ride side corner. Could it be the product I had heard them talking about on the radio? I clicked on the website and I was pretty sure that I had come to the right place. I got a hold of Sigrún who invited me to visit her and learn more about the Colway collagen products. I met with her on a cold day in November and she greeted me with a huge smile and was eager to tell me all about the products. I was fascinated by Sigrún  and her story, she worked in the banking industry 23 years after being introduced to the Colway collagen products while on a vacation in Poland, she quit her job and devoted herself completely to the health industry. We talked for a while and I got to know all about the skin products. Collagen ?  Collagen makes up 75% of the skin, and is what makes the skin strong, thick, supple, and smooth, the natural production of collagen slows down more or less from the age of 25.  I didn’t notice that many wrinkles or fine lines until my early 30´s but it can be different from person to person. Collagen is a connection between blood and cells; it delivers oxygen and important nutrients to our cells keeping them alive and healthy. Natural…

Maintaining Silver Gray Hair !

Maintaining Silver Gray Hair !

I have been sporting different hair colors for the past year. It all started by me going from going completely pink to gray to pink back to being gray again. I find it extremely important to use good hair products especially when you mess with your hair so much. I often get compliments on my hair – probably because people like the look but might be too scared to try it out.  I was a bit skeptical at first and I felt it might be too hard to maintain but after trying it out I can promise you that it is much easier than it seems. All you need are the rights products to suit your hair type and color and you are good to go.  I decided to list my favorite products that I use.                                                       Most of these products are available at sapan.is   Happy weekend everyone – and make sure to follow us on Instagram @reykjavikfashion

Icelandic power women featured in vouge!!

Icelandic power women featured in vouge!!

During my morning fashion surf across the world wide web I came across an article on vouge.com A fasinating read about strong Icelandic women and their favourite places in Iceland. The first one that caught my eye was Glowie a former Reykjavik Fashion and Design cover girl. Here is what she had to say:   Glowie, musician, Her spot: The beach close to Viðey harbor, where she often comes with her boyfriend (pictured). “One of our first dates we came here. It’s a special place for us and very romantic. I live near here as well.” There are also frequent daily ferries to Viðey island, which feels like going back in time. Music notes: “The music industry is really different here in Iceland. It’s kind of a mixture of straight pop and more left-side indie music. I grew up around a family who was all in music and I listened to everything from gospel choirs to Outkast and Craig David. That made me who I am—my style and my sound. It’s a mixture of hip-hop, R&B, and Icelandic influences.” Look: “I’ve always been unafraid to be different. I look for things that no one else here is wearing. I shop a lot of vintage stores. I only wear retro Buffalo platform shoes now. I love the ’90s—that’s my favorite style decade. When I was younger, people would say I was a mixture of Rihanna and Beyoncé. But I don’t want to be the next anybody. I want to be the first Glowie.” My Reykjavik: “The fresh air, the clean water, the language. When I’m in London talking to people in English all day, I miss just speaking Icelandic. The architecture is really different here, too. You definitely want to explore all the new buildings downtown by the water and also the…

Happy Reykjavik Gay Pride 2017

Happy Reykjavik Gay Pride 2017

One of my favorite events of the year in Gay Pride. I love the festivities, color and overall how everyone is so happy to come together and celebrate love and respect for each other. Reykjavik Pride brings thousands of people together and it lasts for little under a week. The parade starts today at 2PM from Hverfisgata by Ingólfsstræti to Hljómskálagarður Park. See you there 🙂

Interior: A glimpse of Stockholm

Interior: A glimpse of Stockholm

At Sturegatan in Stockholm you will find this amazingly beautiful flat for sale. I am a total sucker for Scandinavian interior, everything seems to be so clean, crisp and bright. I love the use of windows in this flat especially the one that separates the bedroom and the bathroom. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. For more info look here.   Make sure to follow us on Instagram: Reykjavikfashion Hope you are having a great week 🙂

Beauty: Want to get the Summer Glow?

Beauty: Want to get the Summer Glow?

I have been waiting for the summer to start here in Iceland but it seems like this country only has three seasons: winter, spring and fall. We have been lucky in the last week though with a few sunny days but I haven´t had any success in getting that that sun-kissed look. My skin is really pale and takes forever getting any color. I also have a sun allergy so I have to be extra careful in the sun anyway. Now with the Tradesmen’s Weekend (Verslunarmanna helgi) coming up, and many of us are going out camping – we need something to boost our natural glow – don´t you think !?! I had been wanting to try out the Marc Inbane products and last week I was lucky enough to get my hands on the products. I must admit I was a little bit vary because I have tried self tanner before and I almost always end up either looking like an orange or with spots or streaks all over – not a sexy look 🙂 I wanted to tell you my method when using Marc Inbane: I start by using the Black Exfoliate scrub, this is key!!!  The scrub removes all dead skin and is deeply hydrating, which helps your the spray tan last longer and get more even. I recommend this scrub even if you are not planning to do the spray tan. My skin feels more even, smooth and hydrated but it tends to get very dry especially after a bath or shower. Now for the spray tan part: Start by shaking the bottle, some people prefer spraying on to the glove first and then apply to the skin but I prefer spraying onto the skin and even out by using the glove. The glove is also great to…
