Norður og Niður – a melting pot of creativity !!

by Björg
Happy New Year everyone. I took a bit of a brake from blogging during the holidays but now I am back and I have a good feeling about this year. I went to Norður og Niður in Harpa last weekend. Oh boy it was such an amazing festival a melting pot of creativity oozing from all directions. Sigur Rós was organizing the festival turning Harpa into a fairy tale land.
There were so many Icelandic and foreign artists that performed during the festival. Jarvis Cocker hosted a great talk, peaches as well as some of the most famous Icelandic artists performed “gloomy holidays” where popular Christmas songs were performed in minor to give it more of a “dark” effect.
I saw my idol Peaches perform on the Friday and she was AWESOME. Here are some pictures from the festival. I will defiantly be attending next year if Sigur Rós decides to put it on again.
