Friday Inspiration: Páll Óskar

Friday Inspiration: Páll Óskar
by

You can’t talk about Icelandic fashion without mentioning the King of Icelandic fashion—and music—Mr. Páll Óskar. From the sparkles to the capes to the bodysuits to that absolutely perfect hair, Mr. Páll is an inspiration. So it was natural for this week’s Friday Inspiration that we pick him. Get ready to get sparkly.

Here are some of my favourite looks and how you can achieve them yourself:

Páll Óskar is known for his jumpsuits, and for his sequins. A sequined jumpsuit can definitely be a hard look to pull off—especially for an everyday outfit—but  this Matthew Williamson mini-dress gives you the same amount of pizazz. The feathers are just a bonus!

Here’s a more casual look of his with a Sesame Street t-shirt and bright yellow puffer. The shirt is part of a 2009-2010 American Apparel collection that is unfortunately unavailable right now but I think this Bernie 2016 shirt will give you the same effect. RIP his campaign though.

I’m obsessed with this gold sequin bomber! It’s bright, eye-catching—I’d wear it over a white silk minidress. You can get a similar look with this Lanvin jacket.

Another sequin jacket? You bet. This one is a little more understated than the gold one above, but still adds a little oomph. This Victoria Beckham blazer will totally do the trick.

Houndstooth Dress

I’m so into houndstooth right now and this Dsquared2 dress is gorgeous. They are one of my absolute favourite brands and always put out A+ designs. Besides, something as classic as this will never go out of style. Investment?

Now recreating this look is going to be a little difficult. Vegas style headpieces are hard to find but I’d recommend Miami Feathers. Their pieces look beautiful. Eyepatches are easier to make than buy, but I just found this one on Etsy and I’m totally in love with it. Now, just have to find the right occasion…
